Children's Garden

Children's Garden

The Children in our Garden program, which is in full swing now, have been busy weeding and planting vegetables and flowers this summer.
Freshly Picked from the garden

The flowers are very brilliant in color and the Children should be extra proud of themselves.  Marylynn has kept a watchful eye taught the Children well.  The children picked out what they wanted to grow from beautiful flowers and sunflowers to beets, onions, potatoes, corn and carrots just to name a few delicious treats they will be taking home.  In the Fall they are hoping to have a big crop of pumpkins to carve into scary faces in time for Halloween.

This is the second year that Marylynn has had the garden program and it is a huge hit with both the young children and their parents, with not only the healthy eating that they are learning but life lessons of planting and growing your garden.

Great
Job!!

Volunteers Needed

Moose Jaw Family Services would like to invite anyone who is wishing to volunteer their time, to consider “The Young Parent Program”. This program will begin in the fall (no fixed date as yet) and will continue through the winter and spring until the children’s gardening program begins.

Volunteers are required to do child-care on Wednesday evenings from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. while the parent/parents are attending their programs in the same building.

Children’s ages can range from newborns to 8 years old but the majority of the children are toddlers to approximately 5 years old.

Due to attendance fluctuating volunteers would not have to attend more than twice a month,

Please contact Moose Jaw Family Services at 694-8133 if you are interested in volunteering for this program.
