Mother to the CEO of The Christmas Pyjama Drive
If you have ever received a new pair
of Christmas pyjamas as a child you know how great it feels to snuggle
in for the night and wait for Santa.
In 2010, in an attempt to teach my
son compassion we had a conversation that some families in our community
go without gifts at Christmas. Reese's answer (then 6yrs old) was "not
even pyjamas" which is a tradition I grew up with and have passed on to my
kids. And with this...The Christmas Pyjama Drive was born!
Ever since then, Reese has been on a
mission to provide new pyjamas for deserving kids and donate them to
various Christmas Hampers & Community Outreach Programs. Over the last 4
years, through the support of donors he has collected over 7000 pairs!!
Reese's goal for 2014 is to collect 4000 pairs but he needs your help!!
Now that Reese is 10, his enthusiasm
for the project is really gaining momentum. With Reese's goal set even higher
this year to collect not only pyjamas but to inspire more PJ Ambassadors to
promote the cause at their schools. Kids who help kids leaves a legacy that
melts our hearts. He would love to have your support and hopes to be swimming
in flannel by the end of this Christmas season.
Last year, with the help from our
supporters, PJ Ambassadors and the media attention we received on CBC's The
National, Global News, The Vancouver Sun & many local radio stations and
newspapers we were able to reach more kids in more communities. It was
amazing to see how our story spread through the country. Your donation will
help outfit a child in your community for long cold winters nights. Pyjamas
provide warmth and the feeling of security and will give children a
sense that they have not been forgotten this Christmas.
